Markéta Kolářová is a painter and draftsman who lives and works in Prague. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied under Michael Rittstein and then Josef Bolf. In 2023, she won 2nd place in the Critics' Award for Young Painting.

Kolářová creates paintings with a rich color palette, often modeled by one dominant color. Her themes range from science fiction and pagan culture to introspective and mental states. Mysticism, mythology, and rituals are key sources of inspiration for her work.

Melancholic, abstract figures and faces with expressions that raise questions about emotions and state of mind are characteristic features of her work. Kolářová opens up a space for mysticism, contemplation and spiritual growth with her paintings.
